Before receiving her degree from The CCNY MFA in Media Arts Production Program as a Fulbright Scholar, Maria earned her B.A. in Comunicacion Audiovisual, at The University of Seville, graduating with honors. She has also studied under the ‘Erasmus’ fellowship at the London College of Music and Media. Maria has worked on numerous short fiction and documentaryfilms as Director/Writer, Producer and Production Designer. Some of these have won prizes and nominations to Spanish film festivals, such as; Sitges, RTVA prize, Ja Ja Festival... She has also worked as Avid editor for a primetime TV program in the Canary Islands. She has been involved with the production of the Sevilla Film Festival and the Carmona Documentary Film Festival. Maria is currently in production on La Furgo-Nana, a transmedia documentary project. She is traveling the Pan American Highway from Mexico to Argentina in a 1969 VW bus, collecting lullabies, to call attention to children’s rights violations.
